Ashley is an HIV advocate working in the Southern part of the United States and a contributing writer for the online magazine HIV Equal. She has extensive experience in HIV prevention and care in the community, which includes education, HIV and other STI testing, psychotherapy, risk reduction counseling, linkage to care, case management, and HIV Empowerment. With a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology, working in the HIV field is a great passion of Ashley’s, which started when she was just a young girl. She credits the diagnosis of Magic Johnson, the Broadway musical Rent, and her personal experiences with HIV positive youth, as pivotal moments in her life that led her down this path. Ashley’s special interests include working with and empowering African American and LGBT communities.
