One Department: Overview of HHS Activities on Violence Against Women

One in every four women and one in every thirteen men have experienced domestic violence during their lifetimes, 2.3 million each year. The Family Violence Prevention and Services Act (FVPSA) provides the primary federal funding stream dedicated to the support of emergency shelter and related assistance for victims of domestic violence and their dependents. This report highlights the use of these funds within the Department of Health and Human Services.
