WHW 2013: Reaching across the Bay

Hosted by Kachemak Bay Family Planning Clinic

Date: 4/30/2013 - 5/25/2013

Location:
Dr. Lawrence Reynolds
Street
Seldovia, AK 99663

Description: This year, KBFPC will celebrate Women’s Health Week by focusing on outreach in the remote fly-in or boat-in only community of Seldovia, a community of 255 on the Southern Kenai Peninsula. The goal of this outreach will be to provide women with crucial education and cancer screenings that they would likely not have access to otherwise by bringing our clinic resources to Seldovia for a free mobile clinic day. In the weeks prior to the mobile clinic day, several activities will be done to increase the reach and impact of the event: distributing educational materials throughout the community; advertising via newspaper, radio and social media; issuing a proclamation to mark Women’s Health Week; direct door-to-door outreach visits throughout the village, and a meet-and-greet with our two new clinicians.

This is a public event and is open to the general public.
