Health Tip: Dine on Seafood

(HealthDay News) -- Many nutritionists suggest eating fish and seafood as part of a balanced, healthier diet.

The University of Michigan Health System offers this list of seafood's potential benefits:

  • It's a good source of protein that's low in saturated fat and rich in iron.
  • It's a good source of B vitamins, such as B-12.
  • Most types encourage healthy growth of a fetus during pregnancy and development of children.
  • It's an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids.
