Health Tip: Health Tip: Managing Pain After Surgery

(HealthDay News) -- It isn't necessary to live with constant pain after surgery. Many types of medicines are available to help ease pain and make you feel more comfortable.

The American Academy of Family Physicians says the possible benefits of pain management after surgery include:

  • Making you more comfortable, which can help speed recovery and healing.
  • Accelerating your discharge from the hospital.
  • Speeding up your ability to move around.
  • Preventing post-surgical complications, including blood clots and pneumonia.
