BodyWorks - A toolkit for healthy girls and strong women

Checklist: BodyWorks Parent/Caregiver

Before Program Sessions*

  • p    Promote your BodyWorks program and begin to recruit parents and caregivers.


  • Check out the trainer resources including recruitment and promotion materials: www.womenshealth.gov/bodyworks/trainers/  
     
  • p     Order toolkits at www.womenshealth.gov/BodyWorks/trainers/ordering.cfm
     
    Order additional 4Teens books and journals if parent has more than one child

  •  
  • p     Audio/Visual needs: laptop for BodyWorks presentation, TV/DVD player to play Let's Shop, Cook, and Eat Together DVD
     
  • p     Print parent and caregiver hand-outs for each session*
     
  • p     Order healthy snacks and/or beverages if desired for each session*
     
  • p     Have nametags for each participant for each session*
     
  • p     Purchase prizes/incentives for participants for each session*
     
  • p     Provide paper and pens for participants as needed
     
  • p     Provide flip board/chart for writing as needed
     

At First Session

  • p     Collect kit cards and send back to:

    Please include: date of training, type of training-parent/caregiver or train-the-trainer-location of training, and name of trainer.

* These items vary session by session. Please refer to the agenda for each session in your Parent and Caregiver Training Guide. Each includes a list of learning objectives and materials needed for each of the 10 sessions.
